Omega wristwatches always seem to be popular when listed on ebay, I’m sure this will be no exception. This is a quite stunning, WW2 (1943), hand wound gents wristwatch finished in a steel coloured case. This exact model with the cal 30T2 movement was used for a host of military watches including the British Royal Navy.
Omega have long been a favourite maker of mine, an perhaps their colourful history has something to do with this appeal. If Omega strove in the inter-war years to be one of the ‘big’ players in the wristwatch industry, by this age they had certainly made it. Perhaps the most impressive of all its features, is the much sought after caliber 30T2 movement, well advanced for its age, a design that became renowned for its accuracy and reliability for the British forces in WW2 and was utilised post-WW2 by the American military.
The entire watch exhibits that delightful minimalist style that Omega often achieve quite brilliantly. The case measures some 33mm and is in good condition. The case back is free of military markings although many have the likes of HS8 markings as they were issues during WW2. The inner of the snap back case bears the correct reference of 2461 (also 13322) and is signed with the Dennison case markings.
In keeping with the excellent condition of the case, the movement is spotlessly clean as it has just been serviced. It runs perfectly keeping good time and has a serial number of 9953345 dating the watch to 1943. It is fully signed Omega and has 16 jewels.
The dial is also in great condition and complimented with the original hands to include sweep centre seconds. The watch comes on a nearly new green leather strap with steel coloured buckle to match the case (I can change the strap colour if the winning bidder wishes). Overall a stunning all original and collectable watch in great condition.
Please do not miss my array of other vintage watches now for offer here on ebay and thanks for looking
